Nantucket Voters Head to the Polls

NANTUCKET – Nantucket voters are heading to the polls today with several contested races on the ballot.

For select board, six people are running for two seats, including incumbent Matt Fee and challengers Tobias Glidden, Fran Karttunen, Kristie Ferrantella, Jill Vieth and Charity Grace Mofsen.

In the race for Land Bank, challenger Mark Donato is running against incumbent John Stackpole.

Planning Board member Barry Rector is running against challengers David Pumphrey and David Iverson.

Nantucket voters will also decide on eight ballot questions that would call for $58 million in spending if all are approved.

Projects include money for traffic and pier improvements, landfill capping, affordable housing, road projects and a fire station auxiliary building.

Polls on the island are open until 8 p.m.
