WELLFLEET – Nicole Taylor, a Safety and Environmental Officer at the Cape Cod National Seashore and Brewster resident, was presented with two safety awards.

Superintendent George Price announced that Taylor was awarded the National Park Service Northeast Region Safety Award and her selection as a National Rising Star of Safety by the National Safety Council.

“Nicole is one of the best safety and environmental officers in the National Park Service,” said Price. “Employees from all our workgroups and contractors have benefited from her expertise to keep employees and visitors safe.”

Taylor is a member of the Northeast Safety Council and prepares the Safety Minute which she developed and implemented at the seashore and distributes nationally.

She also facilitates other safety training programs, including Operational Leadership, and visits other NPS units to review safety programs, conduct safety and health audits and work with staff.

The Brewster resident was nominated by Washington and regional offices to represent the NPS as a Rising Star of Safety, which recognizes individuals under the age of 40 who stand out in the field of safety with innovative ideas.

“Nicole has been an invaluable resource to national park units throughout our region and she should be proud of her accomplishments,” said Price.
