National Seashore to Host Evening Events in Eastham

EASTHAM – Summer has arrived and the Cape Cod National Seashore is hosting free evening events at the Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham.

Residents and visitors on the Cape will learn about the national seashore’s resources and fascinating stories from authors, historians, scientists and performing artists.

Beginning next month, programs will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 p.m.

The evening events kick off Tuesday, July 3 with Stand-Up Chameleon Jackson Gillman. Gillman is a one-man theatre who transforms himself into a wide array of eccentric and warm-hearted characters.

Park Historian Bill Burke will present some of his favorite things from the museum collection on Thursday, July 5.

The Life of a Humpback Whale will be presented on July 10. Carol “Krill” Carson will discuss the life of Salt, the most famous humpback whale in the world.

And the musical duo Toast and Jam perform on July 12. Tim Dickey and Julie Charland perform original bluegrass, modern folk, Americana and more.

All programs are free and wheelchair accessible. Some will be held indoors and others at the outdoor amphitheater. Bug spray is recommended for outdoor events.
