Nauset Disposal’s Virtual Trash Bash is Now Open

ORLEANS – Nauset Disposal’s annual Trash Bash is being held through a virtual fundraiser this year.

The in-person event had to be called off due to concerns revolving around COVID-19.

Now, donors can provide funding for the Cape and Islands United Way, Center for Coastal Studies, Cape Cod Cares for the Troops, and Wild Care Cape Cod through the Trash Bash fundraiser.

Owner Shawn DeLude said that during such a difficult time for many, the help given by local sponsors is what was able to make this fundraiser and tradition possible in 2020.

“We’re not surprised to see some of the tremendous outpouring of support that we already have,” DeLude said.

Business sponsorships up to $10,000 for the fundraiser will be matched by Nauset Disposal.

Spokesperson Kara Boule said that developing a way for residents to support important causes locally and celebrate the Trash Bash virtually was key over the last few months.

“I think that we really looked at all of our options and how we can best mobilize our customers to help the nonprofits on the Cape that do such much for the people who live here,” Boule said.

The company is also hosting a Staycation Sweepstakes through the end of October. Three winners will be selected to stay one or two nights at either Provincetown’s Surfside Hotel and Suites, Dennis’ Pelham House Resort, or Plymouth’s Mirbeau Inn and Spa. Winners will be given a $100 gift card for dining as well. Winners will be chosen on November 2.
