Nauset Regional High School Renovation Plan Advances

EASTHAM – Plans for a $140 million renovation of Nauset Regional High School in Eastham are moving forward following a decision this week by a state agency.

The Massachusetts School Building Authority on Wednesday advanced the project to the schematic design phase during a meeting in Boston.

Several other projects around the state also progressed during the session.

Nauset Regional High School is an aging building that was first constructed in the early 1970’s. The proposed project would make major renovations and additions to the structure.

The regional school is the home to high school students from Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown.

Construction could begin in the spring of 2021 if all goes as planned. About 40,000 square feet would be added to the school.

The Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District will also be seeking approval from the MSBA for their long-delayed replacement of the Mattacheese Middle School.
