SANDWICH – Neighbors of Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich are expressing their concerns over the park’s new Aerial Adventure Exhibit.

The organization plans to open up the exhibit next year, which includes a zipline. Neighbors are concerned the exhibit will increase traffic and noise.

“They’re hoping to increase attendance by quite a large number,” said neighbor Judy Stainbrook, “and that’s going to impact our roads and our tranquility; our peaceful neighborhood.”

Proposed road changes around the museum are also a point of contention between Heritage and neighbors. The organization says those proposals are not directly tied to the exhibit. Neighbors disagree, and say the road changes are tied to the museum’s hope to attract more visitors with the exhibit.

“[Heritage President and CEO Ellen Spear] hopes to increase the attendance to 250,000 [per year], and I don’t think anyone on Cape Cod would like that many people going through their neighborhood,” Stainbrook added.
