New And Expectant Moms To Get Community Baby Shower

CENTERVILLE – Women United, an affinity group of the Cape and Islands United Way, will host a Community Baby Shower on April 29th

Tracy Anderson, Director of Communications, says more than fifty new and expectant mothers will receive two vital necessities.  “This particular event is really geared towards families who may not have supplies that they may need, and also to connect them with different services in the community that may help them getting started.”

The overall goal is to help them raise happy, healthy babies.

The shower will provide an opportunity to explore maternal and early childhood resources, but, in keeping with the spirit, will also provide fun and the chance to make new friends in a supportive and relaxed atmosphere.  A gift bag of donated baby essentials will be given to each participant.

Anderson adds that some items are a priority.  “Diapers, wipes, and things for the bath like shampoo, lotions and diaper cream.  Clothing would be great, onesies especially, or socks and bibs.  Also gift cards, to CVS and Stop N’ Shop particularly, would be really great.”

Anyone wishing to donate  items from the wish list is asked to do so by the 15th.  The list and drop off locations can be found at capeandislandsunitedway.org.
