Cape Cod Children’s Museum is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser from March 18th through May 16th.
Its purpose is to ensure that all families are able to reap the benefits that are available from the educational and developmental experiences provided by the Museum. The fundraiser, named “Sole Purpose”, will also help to maintain the Museum’s free admission policy for military personnel and their families.
Gently worn used and new shoes can be dropped off at the Museum, the Falmouth Cinema Pub or the Mashpee Chamber of Commerce.
CCCM will receive money from Funds2orgs based on the total weight of the shoes collected.
Funds2Orgs will then redistribute the shoes throughout their network of small business partners in developing countries, where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes are used to feed, clothe and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send to her son to law school.
Any businesses that would like to serve as a collection site, or anyone who wishes to donate shoes, should contact the Cape Cod Children’s Museum.
