NEW BEDFORD – The New Bedford Whaling Museum will showcase maritime photography in its 28th annual Sailors’ Series lectures.

Every year the lecture series presents a wide variety of experiences and work by individuals with lifelong commitments to sailing, boats, and the sea.

This year’s series will feature photography that captures the world of yacht racing, the sea’s beauty and the rhythms of life along the coast.

Two of world’s most talented marine photographers, Onne van der Wal and Daniel Foster, will speak about their adventures and work on March 22 and April 5 respectively.

On April 19, the former editor of “Sailing World” and “Cruising World” will take audience members on a photo tour tracing the history of the International One-Design sailboat class.

Louie, Charlie and Kin Howland will profile Norman Fortier, a beloved marine painter and photographer from Padanaram, Massachusetts, in the final lecture on May 10.

All Sailors’ Series Lectures begin at 7 p.m. with a reception at 6 p.m. Individual tickets are $15 for museum members and $20 for non-members and series tickets are $54 and $72.
