FALMOUTH – Visitors to Falmouth Heights Beach this summer will notice new steps leading them down to the sand.
The existing concrete steps, which were over 20 years old, were replaced with six sets of precast steps that were installed this week and two sets that were installed last week.
The work was done by inmate crews from the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department and old steps were removed by Falmouth DPW staff.
The replacement of the beach steps is being funded from the town’s Casino Wharf donations account.
