WOODS HOLE – A new director has been named for the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole.
Nipam Patel is a leading scholar in modern evolutionary and developmental biology and currently is the William Power Endowed Chair in Biology at the University of California Berkeley.
For the past 17 years he has taught in the MBL Embryology course and serves as co-director from 2007 to 2011.
Patel will take over as director on September 4.
