New England Aquarium to Host Event to Discuss Offshore Oil and Gas Exploration

BOSTON – The Trump Administration has proposed opening the Atlantic Ocean to offshore oil and gas exploration, and the New England Aquarium is hosting a special event to discuss the potential impacts to our coastal community.

The event will take place Thursday, January 10 at 6 p.m. at the Simons IMAX Theater at the New England Aquarium.

A series of short films on offshore oil and gas exploration, its development and production and the impacts on local communities will be shown, and will be followed by a Q and A discussion.

Chris Adams, Chief of Staff with the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce and Beth Basoni, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Lobstermans Association will be on-hand for the discussion.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be held on January 14.
