FALMOUTH – Falmouth has a new beach superintendent.
Selectmen appointed Bruce Morgado to the position at a meeting last month.
Morgado has vast in experience in the field, he served as the town’s Beach Superintendent from 1970 to 1973 and also served twice as Assistant.
At the Selectmen’s meeting, Town Manager Julian Saso explained his feelings on the appointment at the Board’s meeting June 18th.
“Bruce has operated with distinction as acting beach superintendent for a considerable period of time, prior to that he acted as assistant superintendent,” said Suso.
“I want to acknowledge and thank Bruce for the way he has stepped up and taken ownership of the beaches, that was reflected with the warm weather being able to open Old Silver Beach this past weekend and the current week.”
Mogardo has been serving as assistant superintendent since 2002 and took over as Acting Superintendent when his predecessor, Don Hoffer, retired at the end of 2016.
He also served as assistant from 1968 to 1969.
He received a warm welcome from selectmen.
