New ‘Family Fridays’ Program to Begin in October in Wareham

WAREHAM — Have you been looking for a free, kid-friendly activity for your family this fall? Well, a new month-long series at Minot Forest might be for you.

The Buzzards Bay Coalition and the Wareham Land Trust are hosting a new series of four free outings in October for kids to discover the outdoors with their parents.

Check out Family Friday Explorations at Minot Forest in Wareham every Friday in October where through fun games and hands-on activities your family can learn about the animals, plants, and habitats of Buzzards Bay.

The cost-free program is recommended for families with elementary school-aged children.

The series kicks off this week, on Friday, October 5 with the “Fall Foliage” program, where staff will guide a tour through Minot Forest to explore the colors of the New England fall foliage.

On October 12, the series will host “Painting with Pinecones”, followed by “Crazy About Cranberries” on October 19. The series finale, “Owls, Bats, and Spiders, Oh My!” is scheduled for October 26.

The programs begin every Friday in October at 5:15 p.m. and run until 6:15 p.m. at Minot Forest, located at 63 Minot Avenue in Wareham.
