New Brewster Fire Station Construction Is On Track

BREWSTER – Brewster is getting a new fire station and its construction is right on track.

The town’s fire and DPW personnel have already been given a tour, and the building committee reports that the project is on schedule and budget.

Project manager Neil Provost said he was impressed with the construction crew.

“Some of these contractors have worked on public projects for a long time.  They’ve worked with each other and know each other.  Everyone is ‘if you can work over there, I’ll work over here’.  It’s a very good attitude that’s going on.”  There are around a dozen subcontractors on the site each day,” he said.

The main portion of the building has already had electrical and plumbing inspections done, and Provost says the completion is drawing near.  “We are literally 95% complete on the site work for winter conditions which is fabulous.  This way everybody can get around, get to the job site, deliveries can be made and so forth.”

The current projection is for the building to be occupied by May.
