New Location is a Success So Far for Falmouth Farmers Market

Farmers MarketsFALMOUTH – After calling Peg Noonan Park home since 2008, the Falmouth Farmers Market is operating at its new home this summer at Falmouth Marine Park.

Selectmen moved the market from their former home after complaints that the market was making the center of town too busy and that market customers were taking up too many parking spaces in the center of town. But local growers were concerned that the move would cause them to lose customers.

That hasn’t been the case this summer, according to the market’s Manager Natasha Miskovsky.

She said that there have been many benefits to having the market in its new location.

“It’s easy, breezy, open, the parking’s amazing. It’s more of a destination versus sort of just passing by and seeing what’s going on, so I think a lot of the vendors are doing really well and everybody seems to be happy,” said Miskovsky.

The seasonal market runs from June to October.

Vendors have reported that the July fourth holiday weekend brought a busy crowd and caused them to sell out most of their wares.

Miskovsky said that although it is only the middle of the summer, it has been a great season so far for the market.

“The people are finding us and the vendors seem to be happy. I haven’t heard any complaints from anybody,” said Miskovsky.

“They’re doing, I think, just as well, if not better in this location,” she said.
