BOURNE – Officials in Bourne are working on hiring the town’s first assistant town administrator. By the middle of this month they had already received 83 resumes, a figure that the board of selectmen found surprising.
Town Administrator Tom Guerino told the board that those are being organized, but admitted that, in some areas, he’s a little technologically challenged. “All of the resumes have been put on to dv-rom…dvd or cd-rom…or…on a disc.”
Residents gave approval to the position at a special town meeting in October.
Robert Gray of the Conservation Commission, who has experience recruiting, will assist with the search. The starting salary is between $85,000 and $105,000. Duties include capital budget management, procurement oversight, resources coordination, special projects and more.
There will be two or three rounds of interviews. Guerino was asked how many applicants will make the first round. “I’m gonna say somewhere between 9 and 13. There will probably be some Skype interviews for people who are not from the area.”
There are several prerequisites and those who have Massachusetts municipal experience are preferred.
