Nantucket – The Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) is hosting the 2016 NHA Diversity Festival, presented by remain Nantucket, the Community Foundation for Nantucket and Nantucket Bank, on November 13 at the Whaling Museum.

The Festival, first held in 2010, brings together the island’s cultural communities in a free day of celebration at the Whaling Museum with specialized programming for non-native English speakers.

Throughout the festive day, the NHA will offer museum tours led community volunteers in languages such as English, Spanish and Portuguese, along with an array of family arts and activities.

Attendees will enjoy a day spent reflecting upon the island’s rich heritage in new and entertaining ways, including a historic artifact station and delicious refreshments for all.

Admission to the museum and all activities are free for everyone throughout the day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The program is made possible with support from remain Nantucket, the Community Foundation for Nantucket, Nantucket Bank and through the help of community volunteers and students from Nantucket High School.

The mission of the Nantucket Historical Association is to preserve and interpret the history of Nantucket Island and foster an appreciation of its historic significance.
