Night Detours on Route 6 Have Resumed

road construction02BREWSTER – Night work has resumed on Route 6 across the Lower Cape.

The median delineation project started last season and involves nightly Route 6 detours.

Currently, MassDOT crews are working between exit 11 and 12 in Brewster and Orleans before the detour moves between exit 12 and the Orleans Rotary.

During the work, one section of Route 6 at a time is closed between two exits.

The work is expected to be completed by the end of April.

MassDOT officials said 10 more shifts should complete the project.

The work is conducted Sunday nights through Friday mornings from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

MassDOT could be revisiting the previous sections to replace delineators damaged over the winter months, but that work will have a minimal traffic impact and will be scheduled well after midnight.
