NOAA Fisheries Accepting Grant Applications

Fish - 10BARNSTABLE – NOAA Fisheries is accepting proposals for the 2017 round of Saltonstall-Kennedy grants.

This year $10 million will be awarded towards projects focusing on coastal fishing communities and sustainable fisheries.

The grants will be awarded to projects focusing on aquaculture, fishery data collection, sustainable seafood promotion, socio-economic fisheries research, adapting to climate change and techniques for reducing bycatch.

The application process has been altered this year and now includes pre-proposals which ask applicants to briefly show the technical merits and relevance of their project before a full proposal is submitted.

The deadline for pre-proposals is September 20, and more information on eligibility and application requirements can be found at grants.gov.
