NOAA Recommends Grant Funding for Yarmouth Bridge Project

YARMOUTH – As part of its coastal resiliency grant program, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has recommended awarding $600,000 to help the Town of Yarmouth construct a new Parkers River Bridge.

The project was one of 11 nationwide recommended by the agency.

The town has already received more than $3.7 million in grant funding from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and has also approved the use of $1.6 million in Community Preservation Act funds to pay for the project, which is expected to cost approximately $5.2 million overall.

Construction of the bridge is anticipated to begin in the fall of 2017.
