OAK Bluffs Police Aid I.C.E. Officers in Arrest of Brazilian National Wanted for Murder

OAK BLUFFS – A Brazilian national wanted for murder in Brazil was returned to his home country this week with help from the Oak Bluffs Police Department.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation officers with the assistance of police on Martha’s Vineyard apprehended Dorviro Rocha-Ribeiro, 47, a citizen and national of Brazil.

Rocha-Ribeiro who was the subject of an Interpol Red Notice for murder, was removed from the United States and sent back to Brazil where he was immediately transferred to the custody of Brazilian law enforcement officers to face the pending murder charges.

Rocha-Ribeiro had earlier illegally re-entered the U.S. after ICE initially removed him in 2003. After being notified in May of this year by that Rocha-Ribeiro was the subject of an active warrant in Brazil for murder, ICE officers arrested him on May 9 at his place of employment in Oak Bluffs.
