Outer Cape Health Services Names Medical Director for New Harwich Port Health Center

HARWICH PORT – Outer Cape Health Services has named a Site Medical Director for its new Harwich Port Community Health Center.

In addition to his own clinical practice, Dr. Matthew Libby will oversee the provider clinical staff at the center.

Libby, who lives in Brewster will continue to serve as the organization’s Clinical Director of Informatics and Director of Medical Education.

He previously served as the site director of the organization’s Wellfleet Health Center which has temporarily closed for renovations.

Most recently Dr. Libby completed a Primary Care Leadership fellowship with the prestigious Linde Family Institute for Primary Care at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Dr. Libby received a B.S. in Physics from University of Massachusetts and later earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of New England where he received the Sauter Award for Graduate with Distinction.

He completed his Family Medicine residency at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center. He began practicing primary care, urgent care, and outpatient addiction treatment at Outer Cape Health Services in Wellfleet in 2015.

The new 14,000+ square-foot Harwich Port Health Center is located at 710 Route 28. It features 16 patient exam rooms, 2 behavioral health consult rooms, medical “pod” team working spaces, a pharmacy opening to the public in January 2019, Quest lab services, a Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program, and a Healthy Connections office to assist patients with attaining and maintaining health insurance.

Other features of the center include an ambulatory transfer area and a community wellness conference room. The organization’s patient call access center and administrative offices are located on the second floor of the same building.  

OCHS currently operates community health centers in Harwich Port, Wellfleet and Provincetown offering primary care, specialty and urgent care, and behavioral health.
