Oil Spill Response To Be Discussed At National Seashore

EASTHAM – Thirty federal, state and local agencies will join the U.S. Coast guard in presenting a workshop today on emergency response procedures in the event of an oil spill at the Cape Cod National Seashore.

With the Trump administration proposing to allow off shore drilling, officials said it was a timely and important exercise.

Best practices and areas that need improvement will be among the topics discussed.  Those involved will put forth plans for multi-agency coordination to ensure that surrounding communities are prepared to deal with such an event.

Both long-term and immediate responses will be discussed.
