One Hyannis Man Dead, Another Injured in Fatal Wrentham Crash

ambulanceWRENTHAM – State police have identified the two dead and one injured in a fatal crash early Monday morning on Route 495 in Wrentham, including two Hyannis men.

Thomas MacPhee, 24, was one of the two people who died in the fiery one vehicle crash.

The driver of the Chevy pickup truck, Douglas Hayes, 23, was the only passenger to escape the wreckage and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

State police identified the woman who died as Alexandra Walsh, 22, of Bedford.

The pickup truck was traveling southbound on 495 near exit 15 when it veered left, crossed the left lane and the shoulder of the road and struck the end-cap of a section of guardrail separating the highway from the median strip, according to a state police preliminary investigation.

Police said the truck was engulfed in flames when troopers arrived on scene.
