WEST YARMOUTH – A man was killed after getting struck by a van late last night on Route 28 in West Yarmouth near Parker’s River.
According to Yarmouth Fire Captain Roupen Baker, a man and woman, described in their sixties, were struck by a van around 11:30 p.m.
The man was in cardiac arrest when crews arrived and CPR was performed while he was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Baker.
Baker said the woman was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with multiple traumatic injuries and was then medflighted to a Boston area hospital.
Route 28 in the area was closed for a couple of hours and Yarmouth police are investigating the accident.
The van remained at the scene of the crash.
