WAREHAM – A 24-year-old Onset man in a wheelchair who was hit by a car has died from his injuries.
The crash occurred on Onset Avenue near Aunt Hannah’s Lane on Saturday at about 1:06 a.m., according to Wareham Police.
Joshua Macro was taken by rescue officials to Tobey Hospital in Wareham where he later died of his injuries, according to police.
The driver, John Vandeusen, 28, of Middleboro has been charged with motor vehicle homicide, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stay in marked lanes.
He is being held without bail at Wareham Police Headquarters pending arraignment Tuesday morning at the Wareham District Court.
The case is under investigation by the Wareham Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and the Accident Reconstruction Team.
