HYANNIS – The town of Barnstable will hold an opening ceremony this afternoon for the new modular classrooms at Hyannis West Elementary and the playground at the Enoch Cobb Early Learning Center.

The ceremony, which will be attended by representatives from Barnstable Public Schools, the town and the Town Council, will be held at the school on West Main Street at 1 p.m.

The new modular classrooms replace the portable trailers that had been used for classroom space for decades. The school department worked with TBA Architects, Inc. to design the modular classrooms, which were built by Vanguard Modular at Hyannis West Elementary and Barnstable-West Barnstable Schools.

The playground is a fully accessible and therapeutic facility that was built with support from the Barnstable Disability Commission. The Enoch Cobb Early Learning Center opened in September of 2015.

  1. This certainly was a great project all around. The Town of Barnstable and the school district really came together to make this happen. We at Vanguard Modular (vanguardmodular.com) certainly were pleased to be part of this successful permanent modular classroom building project. It was so good to see the students and teachers enjoying the new space!

  2. Great article. Modular buildings are best for schools, medical buildings, offices, gas stations and much more. Nice to see everyone is taking advantage to this type of construction.
