‘Operation Dry Water’ Aims to Arrest Boaters Under the Influence

HYANNIS – A major crackdown in store for those who captain a boat while under the influence this summer.

Starting June 29th and running to July 1st, law enforcement agencies will kick off ‘Operation Dry Water’ aimed at reducing deaths and accidents wile on board a vessel.

Last year this same operation with the help of over 600 officers, was able to put 518 people behind bars for operating under the influence.

This initiative will be funded with a grant coordinated by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and is produced under a grant from the Sport Fish and Restoration Boating Trust Fund, in partnership with the United States Coast Guard.
