Orleans Beach Officials Open More Oversand Trail Access

ORLEANS – More oversand vehicle trails are being opened this week at Nauset Beach South in Orleans.

Town officials said trail 5 will be open with parking available to the north. Trail 3 is also open with parking available to the north. All other trails remain closed at this time.

The Habitat Conservation Plan, which requires a walking escort past nesting piping plovers, remains in effect until further notice.

Once the chicks fledge in the coming weeks, most of the beach will be open to traffic.
