Orleans Historical Society to Host Holiday Concert, Meeting

ORLEANS – The holiday season is in full swing and the Orleans Historical Society and Museum is celebrating with an afternoon of holiday-inspired jazz.

The Fred Fried and Bruce Abbott Jazz Duo will perform Saturday, December 15 at 2 p.m.

Guests can relax and enjoy some holiday songs with local favorite musicians as they perform songs by great American composers such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers and Fats Waller, along with one of two bossa nova pieces.

The duo will also play holiday favorites to get attendees into the spirit of the season.

Admission is $15, $10 for members and $8 for students.

The 2018 Orleans Historical Society ornament is also available for purchase. The ornament celebrates the Centennial of the Attack on Orleans with the back showing the lifeboats rescuing survivors.

The ornaments are $20, $18 for members and are available at the Meetinghouse or online at orleans historical society dot org.

The society will also hold its Annual Meeting Wednesday, December 12 at 3 p.m. at the Meetinghouse. It will include committee reports, elections and an update on OHS projects.
