Orleans Historical Society to Open New Exhibit

ORLEANS – The Centers for Culture and History in Orleans, also known as the Orleans Historical Society, opens its next major exhibit Sunday, May 19.

The Meetinghouse Museum on River Road presents Models of Maritime Courage & Adventure.

The Orleans Historical Society has brought together important items from its collection and other museums and private collectors on Cape Cod to showcase the entrepreneurial spirit of living by the sea.

The exhibition will include ship models and other artifacts that tell the story of the people and vessels that built our community.

Dr. Edith Tonelli served as guest curator for the exhibit, which is for guests of all ages.

The exhibit runs from May 19 through September 22.

Admission is $7 for adults, and free for OHS members, seniors and children under 12.

The Orleans Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the town’s heritage, respecting its past, and making its history and culture available to both residents and visitors.
