Orleans Holding Open Meeting to Help Plan Commercial Wharf Updates

ORLEANS – The Town of Orleans is planning improvements to the Commercial Wharf infrastructure using funds gained via a state grant from the Seaport Economic Council, and the town is planning an open-forum meeting to collect input from wharf users in preparation.

The project will focus on providing long-lasting updates and support for a safe and sustainable wharf for the local commercial fleet.

The proposed plan includes replacing and upgrading much of the wharf and installing a high-capacity hoist system alongside new electrical enhancements.

Alternate layouts for the wharf will also be considered if it would improve the functionality of the wharf and its components moving forward.

The initial planning stages of the project include an open-forum, outreach meeting to discuss with commercial users what kind of improvements should be considered before more concrete plans are made.

The meeting is scheduled for December 5 at 1 pm and will take place in the Orleans Town Hall Skaket Room.
