Orleans Pond Coalition Set for 7th Annual Celebrate our Waters Weekend

KA_Storm Sunset_Clam Trees_Orleans_Rock Harbor_060816_233ORLEANS – For a seventh year, the Orleans Pond Coalition will host its annual Celebrate our Waters Festival, taking place Friday, September 16 through Sunday, September 18.

The Festival will feature more than 50 water-related activities, including free talks, guided walks, kayak tours, paddle board clinics, sailing trips, and more.

Event organizers say it’s a fun and free way to not only get out and enjoy water-related activities, but to become involved in the on-going issue of water quality.

“The biggest environmental challenge that Cape Cod has in general and Orleans has imp articular, is we need to do a better job taking care of our waters and the first step is to get people to appreciate them,” Orleans Pond Coalition President Jim McCauley said.

The Festival kicks off Friday evening with a “Smooth Jazz Under the Stars” concert at Depot Square in Orleans.

Tickets for the concert are $20.

All the events for Saturday and Sunday are free, and will be spread out at more than 30 locations in Orleans, Eastham, and Brewster.
