Orleans Town Meeting to Debate Sipson Island Purchase

ORLEANS – Orleans residents will decide on whether they want to own an island at Monday night’s town meeting.

They will decide on an article seeking $1.5 million in community preservation act money to purchase Sipson Island in Pleasant Bay.

Residents will also decide on school and operating budgets and a $47.3 million wastewater plan.

Other spending articles include money for bulkhead repairs, street work and a new fire station feasibility study.

Orleans town meeting takes place at the Nauset Middle School gym.
