Orpheum Theater Founder to Present at the Atwood House and Museum

CHATHAM – The leading force in the effort to reclaim and renovate Chatham’s Orpheum Theater, Founding President Naomi Turner, will give a talk on “If Those Walls Could Talk” this month.

She will share images, metaphors impressions and sentiments held within the walls of the Orpheum during its 72 years of silent films, talkies, CHS graduations, town meetings, first dates, thrillers, dance, romance, aliens and sharks.

Turner has been honored for her work in re-creating the Chatham Orpheum Theater. She has been recognized by the Massachusetts House of Representatives, the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and the Town of Chatham.

Turner is also a skilled dancer, choreographer and teacher; president of Chatham Candy Manor; founding director of Studio 878 Trust, a non-profit young dancers; co-founder of Chance to Dance Scholarship program for young dancers; co-writer of Wrinkles, The Musical, and a sponsor of Movimento Dance.

The presentation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 16^th, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Atwood House and Museum.
