Osterville Library to Screen Film Focused on Blind Sailors

OSTERVILLE – The Osterville Village Library has announced that they will be partnering with the Wianno Yacht Club to present a filmmaker screening at the library next week.

The film, “Sense the Wind: Blind Sailors Race Across Open Water” is an hour-long documentary film following the journey of four blind sailors as they train and compete in American and international regattas.

It follows the sailors over several years of trials and triumphs as they make their way toward Japan’s blind sailing championships.

Sense the Wind has already been recognized with a humanitarian award by the Socially Relevant Film Festival in New York, and, following the screening, attendees will be invited to ask questions of the director and producer Christine Knowlton.

The event is free for anyone interested, and all ages are welcome. It will be held next Monday, July 24th, at the Osterville Village Library beginning at 5 pm.
