BARNSTABLE – An alleged murder-for-hire plot led to the indictment of an Osterville woman last week.

Tricia A. Lasher, 45, was charged with attempting to commit a crime and solicitation to commit a felony, according to Barnstable Police Detective Valerie Hemmila who investigated the case along with state troopers with the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office.

Lasher’s husband was later shot in the head in October 2013. Police allege the shooter was Buddy Bothwell of Sandwich, who they say was Lasher’s boyfriend.

Bothwell is being held at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility awaiting trial.

Lasher’s husband survived the shooting and he and Lasher divorced, according to Hemmila.
