Outer Cape Health Services Taps New Chief Medical Officer

WELLFLEET – Outer Cape Health Services has promoted from within to find their new Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Andrew Jorgenson takes over the role after serving as the organization’s Associate Medical Director for the last two years. He is tasked with overseeing positive patient outcomes, patient safety, and quality care.

“We are very grateful for the opportunity to promote Dr. Jorgensen to lead our medical program at an exciting time of planned growth for all three of our clinical sites,” said Outer Cape Health Services CEO Patricia Nadle. “In addition to providing strong patient care, his clinical interests include building upon our patient centered medical home model, behavioral health integration, provider wellness, and community health access. Dr. Jorgensen will undoubtedly take on this new role with great vigor and passion, with these important interests in mind.”

Jorgenson takes over for longtime Medical Director Dr. Barbara Prazak.

“The most important characteristic of a successful health care leader is the ability to always put the needs of our patients and community first while at the same time advocating for the providers and staff who care for these patients,” Dr. Jorgensen said. “Dr. Prazak achieved this balance with skill and compassion. It is a humbling privilege to follow in her steps in providing accessible, quality healthcare on the Lower and Outer Cape for all in need of our services.”

Jorgenson is a full-time Provincetown resident and is a graduate of St. Louis University School of Medicine.

Outer Cape Health Services runs community health centers in Provincetown, Wellfleet, and Harwich and operates pharmacies in Wellfleet and Provincetown.
