HYANNIS – Cape Cod Community College held its 54th Commencement Ceremony Thursday at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis.
“This is the point in the educational journey where you’re all allowed to catch your breath and reflect on what has come before and your direction for tomorrow,” said college president Dr. John Cox to the graduating students.
Over 660 students graduated at the ceremony.
Dental Hygiene and Nursing graduate students held their pinning ceremony earlier in the day.
Mamadou Sow, a class of 2000 graduate of the college and head of the Gaza delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross, was the guest speaker at the ceremony.
“Today is the foundation of a lifelong commitment to personal achievement, educational enrichment, and the new direction for yourself and your family,” said Cox. “An achievement that has required great sacrifice to become a reality.”
