ORLEANS – The oversand trails at Nauset Beach in Orleans fully opened without restrictions this past weekend.
The area south of the public parking lot had been completely closed at the beginning of the summer because of nesting shorebirds.
It was partially open at the end of July under the Statewide Habitat Conservation Plan.
As the piping plovers fledged late last week, the trails were opened without any access limitations and will remain that way for the rest of the year.
