Parent Resource Fair Takes Place On Saturday

COTUIT – The Waldorf School of Cape Cod will host a Parent Resource Fair presented by Cape Cod Moms.

The event takes place on Saturday from 10:00 until 2:00, and is sponsored in part by The Children’s Workshop.

A big portion of the fair will be presentations.  According to Cape Cod Moms owner Amy Leonardi, they’ll cover many aspects of parenting.

“We’re going to have some very dynamic expert speakers who will be speaking on a wide range of topics.  Anything from managing a healthy family, your children’s emotions, to setting yourself up for a successful breast feeding experience,” she said.

Aside from the parent-focused sessions, there will be many activities for families such as music, art and a puppet show.

Although many parents avail themselves of online resources, Leonardi believes that this type of event is also necessary.

“With our generation being so virtual and online all the time, sometimes things get lost in translation.  Real connections happen face to face.  That’s where you know ‘I can trust you, I like you, I wanna utilize you and refer business to you,” she said.

Admission to the fair is only $2 for adults and free for children.  Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.  Ticket holders will automatically be entered to win one of many prizes provided by local businesses.

Cape Cod Moms, founded in 2010 and based in Falmouth, acts as a free online resource center for parents and caregivers.  Their website is capecodmoms.com.
