Patrons Offered Chance to Help Restore Antique Chairs at Cape Cinema

KA_Year By The Sea_Karen Allen_We Can Benefit Auction_Screening_Cape Cinema_Dennis_051916_014DENNIS – Since 1930, the Cape Cinema in Dennis has been a premier venue for movies, as well as live performance and music events. After 80-plus years of service, one area in particular is in need of a facelift.

The Cape Cinema and the Cape Cod Center for the Arts are launching a campaign to restore the original 1930 Paul Frankl chairs at the cinema, and are offering patrons an opportunity to breathe life back into these antique seats.

The cost for each chair to be restored is $600, and those interested are able to contribute through endowing the restoration of a chair.

Any dollar amount is greatly appreciated, but with each $600 donation to cover an individual seat, the donor will receive free admission to movies at the Cape Cinema for a year, be able to reserve that seat for the Met in HD, NT Live and Bolshoi events, and also have their name etched on a plaque on the chair armrest.

A rebuilt prototype is currently on display in the Cape Cinema lobby, and all donations are tax-deductible.
