WAREHAM – Wareham Police are investigating an incident yesterday afternoon where a car struck a pedestrian as he attempted to cross the street in the area of Marion and Swifts Beach Roads.
The 58 year old man was med flighted to a Boston Hospital with what are believed to be non life threatening injuries, his name is not being released.
Although the investigation is preliminary at this point, it appears as though the man was attempting to cross the street in front of a slowing vehicle in the travel lane and was struck by a vehicle traveling in the passing lane of Marion Road.
The driver of the 2002 Honda sedan that hit the pedestrian is identified as 29 year old Marion resident Nichole Nye.
