PROVINCETOWN – The Mass Development Board of Directors has approved $200,000 in grant funding for the Pilgrim Memorial and Provincetown Museum.
The award will be used for efforts to ensure that the property is accessible to visitors ahead of that community’s 400th anniversary celebration.
“From the Berkshires to Cape Cod, Massachusetts is home to a deep cultural history that continues to grow and thrive,” said Governor Charlie Baker. “Our administration looks forward to continuing our work to support public-private partnerships like these that will help drive tourism and benefit residents and visitors for years to come.”
The money comes courtesy of the commonwealth’s Cultural Facilities Fund, a state program that fosters the growth of the creative economy by supporting building projects in the nonprofit arts, humanities, and sciences.
The Fund released a total of $9.3 million in new grants to nearly 100 projects across Massachusetts. Awards range from $7,000 to $200,000 and must be matched one-to-one from private and/or other public sources.
