PROVINCETOWN – A night of theater readings featuring the works of the historic Provincetown Players will be held this week at the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum.
Cape Cod to Greenwich Village 1916 & 1917 will be produced by actor and director Stuard Derrick on Wednesday, July 26 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The exhibition continues the events this season which celebrate the year 1916, a pivotal time in the town’s history paving the way for it to be the nation’s oldest continuous art colony.
The program will feature excerpts from Mary Heaton Vorse’s “Time and the Town”, “Thirst” by Eugene O’Neill, “Cocaine” by Pendleton King and writings of George Cram Cook.
Executive Director of the Provincetown Monument and Museum David Weidner says the history of American theater is embedded in the fabric of Provinctown and that the museum is pleased to provide readings to the community.
The event is free and open to the public.
