Shakeup at Provincetown 400 Group as Executive Director Resigns

The Provincetown Monument commemorates the Pilgrim’s first landing place at the Cape’s tip.

PROVINCETOWN – The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum will now lead Provincetown 400.

The board of directors of Provincetown 400 announced the transition of leadership for the fundraising and planning of events for the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims first landing in P-town in 2020.

The move follows the sudden resignation of executive director Lisa Giuffre this week.

“With the long standing mission of the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum being so closely aligned with that of Provincetown 400’s mission, it only makes sense that this community’s valued cultural attraction lead the curation and planning of the 400th anniversary events,” said Mike Glasfeld, the Provincetown 400 board chair and member of the PMPM board of trustees.

“We are grateful to Lisa Guiffre for having brought us to this point of established credibility with the state and international participants of other 400th anniversary events. We are confident that the PMPM’s Executive Director, Dr. K. David Weidner, Board of Trustees and staff are the perfect stewards of Provincetown 400. The community outreach and energy of Dr. Weidner has been a great addition to our town’s community fabric,” said Town Manager David Pangore.
