Planned Hyannis Art Walk Launches Call for Artists

KA_Hyannis_Hyarts Cultural District Main street waterfront fishing tour boats_11315HYANNIS – A new public art project launched by the Mid-Cape Cultural Council needs interested artists for an exhibit at the HyArts Cultural District.

The project’s total budget of up to $25,000 involves creating interactive artworks which the public, especially children and families, can walk in, over, through or under.

Project Coordinator Becky Lawrence said she hopes the “Discovery Walk” will be playful and inspire visitors to post images of their time at the HyArts Cultural District.

“When they are discovered, people will be encouraged to interact with them; something to spark the imagination,” she said.

Artists will receive a $200 for each of their designs, which will be installed by early 2018.

Interested artists may visit www.mass-culture.org/mid-cape for full details.

The deadline to submit qualifications, not designs, is April 11th.
