BARNSTABLE – A meeting next week in Hyannis will address the erosion issues on the bay side of the Cape between the canal and Barnstable harbor.

For the past year, researchers from the Center for Coastal Studies have been helping state and local officials in the development of an erosion plan for the area, which aims to provide a framework for future beach re-nourishment projects and other efforts to protect the area from erosion-related issues.

The findings of the study will be announced and discussed at the meeting, which takes place on June 8 at Barnstable Town Hall at 6 PM.

The project was funded by a Coastal Community Resilience Grant from the state office of Coastal Zone Management.
