Pleasant Bay Community Boating to Host Drinking Water Contaminants Discussion

HARWICH – A leader in research related to the effects of highly fluorinated chemicals, pharmaceuticals and other emerging contaminants in drinking water will speak this week in Harwich.

Pleasant Bay Community Boating will host Dr. Laurel Schaider from the Silent Spring Institute and Havard’s School of Public Health Friday, October 12 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Hillside Center in Harwich.

Schaider leads the Silent Spring Institute’s Cape Cod water quality research on contaminants of emerging concern.

Her current research focuses on PFASs in drinking water and consumer products.
